The fastest growing sport in the United States is spreading like wildfire. These resorts have gotten the message and are adding pickleball courts and programming to accommodate the growing interest.
Carmel Valley Ranch – Carmel, CA
Players at this 181-room resort can serve it up on four new pickleball courts and enjoy a full roster of programs, ranging from beginner clinics to specialty shot drills and bimonthly mixers. Pros will introduce players to the rules of the game, the most important shots to know, and how to keep score. By the end of the clinic, you will be playing pickleball!
Rancho La Puerta – Tacate, Mexico
Home to 86 casitas set on 4,000 acres, this all-inclusive wellness resort hosts a series of immersive specialty pickleball weeks (there were 6 this year) on its six lighted courts, with visiting pros to coach drills and techniques.
Club Med Resorts
Club Med, which features pickleball at its Sandpiper Bay (Florida), La Caravelle (Guadaloupe), Punta Cana and Ixtapa Pacific properties, has seen a huge spike in demand for the sport. Some pickleball group bookings have comprised as many as 200 to 300 guests. Club Med, founder of the all-inclusive resort concept, has plans to extend their pickleball offerings with the addition of new courts at their many resorts.
Four Seasons – Lanai, Hawaii
This 213-room resort recently introduced pickleball to racquet-sports clinics in its Tennis Garden to help guests perfect dinks, volleys, and match strategies. Resort pro Andres Durandegui also holds complimentary clinics for local Lanai kids to introduce them to the sport.
